[SOLVED] Information on what could happen if a hardware component is "touched" with hands while it is fully on

Hi guys,
first of all I would like to thank you in advance for your answer and I would like to point out from the beginning that I want to apologize for the question if it may be a little "trivial".
So, as I described from the title I was wondering what could happen (in the worst case) to a component if it is touched with hands on its PCB or, in my specific case on a three pin connector of case fan control while the PC fully turned on? Is there a possibility of having any short circuit in your opinion? Is there any possibility of damaging anything?

Maybe you will get shock or any lite component will get damage. Because of generation of static electricity

As I know, a static shock on a finger would produce a "zap" quick sound so it'd be easy to hear it in any case, right?
