I was told by a salesman recently at Comp-USA that the epson photo printers do not use water based ink. Is this true? I was just looking for an inexpensive printer to make some T-Shirts for the fun of it. And I wanted the image to last longer than a couple of washes. I was told you can print to transfer paper then iron it on to a shirt.
Any advice, comments, and feed back are greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Wacky Noodle

Dont know the answer, but HP inks are of real good quality. I have used Epson, Canon and HP printers, and I think I like the quality of ink from HP best.

There is an Epson that use solid inks, an Lexmark is using both in one model. Most use water-based inks, including Epson and Lexmark. I'm not sure how either ink type will hold up on a iron-on transfer.
