Inquiry with Surround Sound Headsets

Hi.

For virtual 5.1 surround sound USB headset, do I need a surround sound sound card in my laptop to be able to hear surround sound?

If not, is there external sound card/adapters that I could plug into the surround sound headset to have surround sound?

If it has usb it gets all it needs though the usb cable. No cards are needed, nor any external parts. Im using 7.1 surround on my G35 though usb.

They are great, the 7.1 sounds like a sound system, not artificial, the bass is good, not hollow. The included software allows you to change the bass and treble to your liking. I would fully recommend it.
