Inserting a old drive to a new computer , window won't start.

I taken down my old computer remove the hard drive, and insert it's into my new computer, however the system window won't show up once i inserted it. and it works if i remove it.
I would like to take the files from my old hard drive and rebuild a new computer with it.
can anyone help ?

Buy a hard drive enclosure for the old drive then you can plug it in to a USB port. Your new PC should start Windows okay if you do that, but don't plug the old drive in to the USB port until your new PC has finished loading Windows.

You need to go into bios and choose which drive to boot from, yor computer is trying to boot from the old drive.

If you don't know anything about messing with the BIOS settings, try my suggestion instead (hard drive enclosure).
It's safer, but the BIOS suggestion is cheaper cos it means you don't have to buy anything.

There's also the odd chance that your old harddrive, since it was the primary in your old system may have been jumpered to be the master drive of the system or in the case of wd drives may need to be jumpered to register being the secondary.
