Hello there.
I have dell desktop computer Vostro 3670.
I am trying to install drive M. 2 SSD SK Hynix PC401 M. 2 2280 256GB
Newly received from dell and bios doesn't recognize it.
I'm asking from you to help me so that the bios will recognize this drive.
The drive is fully functional and works on another dell desktop computer
Thanks in advance

The M.2 must NVMe and must be formatted GPT, not MBR.
There is a way to convert MBR to GPT...look for videos on that. Back it up first.
Make sure BIOS is set up for UEFI, not legacy. Set SATA to AHCI.
Look for videos on how to convert your drive to AHCI in the registry.

Hello and thanks for the response
The problem is that the bios does not recognize the M2 and does not belong How do I format it only after it is recognized by the bios I can continue with the installation and format it in the correct configuration GPT
And of course during the installation of windows 10 it will be installation of UEFI
In the end I managed to fix it when I bought SSD m2 nvme and then the bios preconize it

Zvi, This forum is very useful to instruct others who have been having the same issue. It is very nice that you have had a solution, but it would be even nicer if you could put in step-by-step instructions on how to resolve it so others can do the same.

For example, here are the BIOS settings which I found worked for me:
Boot Sequence: Windows Boot Manager, then USB
Advanced Boot Options: Don't enable legacy
UEFI Boot Security: Always, except Internal HDD
SATA Operation: AHCI
Drives: Check all the boxes so it looks for all available drives
UEFI Capsule Firmware Updates: Enable
HDD Security: Not enabled
PTT Security: PTT On (no other boxes checked)
Computrace: Deactivate
Master Password Lockout: disabled
SMM Security Mitigation: disabled
Secure Boot Enable: disabled
Secure Boot Mode: Deployed Mode
Expert Key Management: disabled
Intel SGX Enable: Software Controlled
Intel SpeedStep: enabled
C-States Control: C states
Intel TurboBoost: enabled
Fastboot: Thorough
Warnings and Errors: Prompt
VT for Direct I/O: enable
ASPM: Auto

So with that said, will you please post the steps to fix the original issue?
Thanks,
ITHQ

Hello there.
I'll explain how I solved the problem.
Exists in the World 2 types of M2 SSD
  1. M2 SSD SATA3
  2. M2 NVME PCIE
Both have the same connection to the motherboard.
And when I tried to use the M2 SSD SATA3 the motherboard did not recognize it.
I also spoke to the representatives of dell end they did not helped me.
I downloaded the Dell Vostro 3670 Setup and Specifications guide from the site of Del
And there it says to use on page 16 "Solid-State Drive (SSD) M. 2 2230 and 2280 PCIe PCIe 3 x 4 NVME, Up to 32 Gbps Up to 512 GB"
I realized I had to use NVME PCIE except SSD SATA3
And that's what I did, I bought an NVME PCIE and then the motherboard recognize it and the installation was simple
I do not do installation to a particular computer but installs on a computer and then makes image with acronis.
I make them in the number of part versions including UEFI and some without, then deploying acronis image on the hard disk and after windows startup its make automatic update on the motherboard and all the components installed on the computer and it saves me a lot of work hours
I hope it helped you understand what I did.
Thank you so much

I don't make any changes I the bios of the computer
But always check Secure Boot Is Disabled
End HDD Security: Not enabled
In order that disable bitlocker.
