I have a 2 year old 1GHz Celeron Inspiron 4100. It has acquired some odd
behaviors that *feel* like they're not going to be easy to fix. (First
launch of a URL from Outlook after a fresh boot takes ~2 minutes to load,
sometimes normal web page loading is extremely slow, sometimes IE just locks
up, Norton is acting a little screwy, etc.).
Should I just wipe the disk and reinstall? I'm generally pretty good about
fixing various issues with my systems. But these issues seem like they
might take a while to diagnose and I'm wondering if people have opinions on
the most time-effective solution. I'm positive these are problems with my
machine and not local network connections. They're almost always fixed, at
least temporarily, with a reboot.
If people recommend a rebuild, is it generally better to do the inital
install with the unit in or out of the docking station? Or does it matter?
Thanks.
