Inspiron b120 wont boot

While booting, my Dell Inspiron b120 stops at the background picture and won't continue. I can use task manager in a limited scope, but only to open a couple programs.

So you can't start Explorer? What appears when you try to start Explorer.exe?

You have a Corrupt OS!! Do a repair install of windows and your problem should exit the back door with its head down and tail between its legs.
