Hello lovely people of Tom's Hardware,

I have a quick verification question regarding my memory upgrade.

My current memory specs are:

DDR3
2 x 2GB SODIMMs
204 pin
533Mhz (Inspiron N5010 supports speeds upto 1067Mhz)
1.5Volt
CL 7
Timing 7-7-7-20

Could you please confirm that Crucial 8GB Kit (4GB x 2) DDR3 1066 MT/s (PC3-8500) CL7 SODIMM 204-Pin Mac Memory CT2K4G3S1067M (http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-PC3-8500-SODIMM-204-Pin-CT2K4G3S1067M/dp/B008LTBJFM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1419773975&sr=1-1&keywords=8gb+204+pin+cl7) will work?

I am not sure if Mac memory will work with my Inspiron N5010.

Thanks a bunch!

Solution
There's no functional difference between "Mac" DRAM and any other SODIMM of the same specs (speed, CAS, voltage, etc), other than price and the fact that the manufacturer warrants the memory to work in Macs. If the price is right, go for it.
