Hello,
I am replacing the motherboard of my Dell Inspiron 1520, because I have the edition with the Intel GM965 chipset and I wanted to upgrade to an NVIDIA GeForce GT8600M. The motherboard of a Dell Vostro 1500 is exactly the same as the Dell Inspiron 1520 motherboard. But in BIOS and on the OS it will say that my computer is a Dell Vostro 1500. My question is can I fix that by flashing the BIOS with A09 for Dell Inspiron 1520?

What I mean is that I have a Vostro 1500 motherboard but I want to put it in my Inspiron 1520, and I want it to say Inspiron 1520, so how can I flash the Vostro 1500 motherboard with Inspiron 1520 BIOS?
Bios crossflashing is kinda risky, you need an external bios chip programmer (like CH341A) IF you want to flash the Inspiron 1520 Bios without being restricted to the motherboard firmware, since flashing directly to the bios chip means you rewrite the EEPROM and its a 50/50 chance it would work.

I don't even know where the EEPROM is on my motherboard, and I would only do it if I am sure that I can get the old BIOS back.
If it's really that risky I won't do it but there is just one problem, I have an Intel Core 2 Duo T9300, and before upgrading to BIOS Revision A09 I had random CPU throttling at like 50 degrees on each core, preventing me from watching YouTube videos. Vostro 1500 system is only up to A06 BIOS Revision, meaning that I could get the same CPU throttling...

I hope my T9300 will be fine with A06 BIOS Revision... and not be stuck at 800Mhz as soon as it reaches 50 degrees like on my old motherboard before I upgraded the BIOS to A09...
I actually do not have the Vostro motherboard yet, I ordered it to upgrade from Intel GM965 Chipset to NVIDIA GT8600M.
