Install divers in safe mode or turn off graphics card

Hi

Im having alot of bother with my dv9500, the memory in my graph card is fried and i cant start up in anything but safe mode.

two questions:

is it possible to start up with everything running with exception of the graph card higher functions?

or

can i install drivers in safe mode in vista. there are a few large files i want to take over to my other computer?

please note that vista has been reinstalled on this machine and all files are in a 'windows old' folder

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Boot up in safe mode with internet
Download/Install/Run Driver Sweeper...

Click on the Video driver and Clean the driver from your system.
FYI - you can only do this from the Safe mode.
Upon reboot, Microsoft will use the Microsoft default video driver.

Now your computer will work, just without using the video card until you repair the old one or get a new one.
