Install drivers on a different partition

Hi, I had to replace the motherboard on my PC, but when my computer gets to the windows logo in the boot process, it blue screens and restarts. I figured it has something to do with the new hardware. So I partitioned the hard drive, and installed a new copy of windows on it and it boots just fine. My best guess is it the OS looking for the old motherboard drivers, and getting a completely different piece of hardware.

So my question is how can I install the drivers for the motherboard on the other partition if I am unable to boot into it?

typically after replacing the MB, you re-install the OS.

Sorry, Windows doesn't allow you to instal drivers elsewhere.

Anywhoo, your original problem is, when swapping Mobo, unless new Mobo is identical to old, you must re-install Windows from scratch, as you found out, the drivers are different.

Try this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/windriver_ghost_personal.html to back up all drivers to different disk/partition. If you have to replace windows for any reason, it will help you reinstall all drivers.
