Install Help (Windows)

Okay so today I decided to put back together my old computer, and When I go to install windows 7 or Windows 10, it says that my HDD size in Windows Setup is 1TB... and the hard drive I have is only a 500GB. I cant format the drive. and when I get it to install to the drive it stays stuck on 0%.... any help?

did you check the hdd in different system

try to format it using any bootable cd(linux based)

try it with paragon disk manager

No I will have to check in on another system. I think I will just format it somewhere else, I believe it is HDD based problem and windows being stupid and not a motherboard issue.

not a motherboard issue, its definitely a hdd issue,
while formatting the hdd, please give the default allocation value
