Install HP help needed

I have a HP 9300 Plus and I can't install it on Win2000. I have nothing to go by and it says it can't find a suitable IDE, but I can read from it. I go to HP sight looking for a driver, but just found software updates and I'm sure I bought this before yr 2000. I tried installing it manual, but didn't try every combanation. There on line manual jump right over installing the driver and software.

What should I do or try?

I tried some other software I had. I can get it to work somewhat, thought I can't right click-send-to CDRW or copy or paste. Not quit satisfied
