Install New SSD Problem

Hello

My laptop model is the Asus V502UX, this laptop has a default 16GB SSD hard drive and I want to replace it, can I install the Hard drive SAMSUNG 960 Evo PCIe NVMe M.2 250GB on this laptop?

As stated, more information is required to be absolutely certain, however, are you sure that the SSD drive within the laptop itself is only 16 GB? Maybe that is the amount of RAM, not the SSD? I ask because 16 GB SSD drives were introduced over 10 years ago :)

If I had to guess, however, this laptop most likely only has drive using the typical SATA III 6GB/s interface and would not have the ability to support the totally different NVMe drive type.

In addition, several laptops were brought out with a 16 or 32GB "SSD" to be used as a cache for the large HDD. Often soldered directly to the motherboard.

Over time and several OS installs later, somehow this get disconnected from the HDD, and the 16GB thing is seen as its own drive space.
