i have a motherboard asus z97 deluxe

ssd sata 240g install intel sata

and

hhd 8tb install intel sata

Can I install a hard drive samsung 980 pro on this motherboard? no problem? The system speed does not decrease.؟؟

If MB supports M.2 NVMe drives you can install any one. In your case 980 Pro will not work at full speed because MB doesn't have PCIe v4 but that should not impact anything else.

That motherboard will not boot with that drive. It's too old. It may work as a data drive though.

The 980 Pro is a total waste on that board.

For actual performance of that drive, it requires a PCIe 4.0 M.2 port.
Which that board does not have.

Additionally, you can't put it in a PCIe slot adapter and have it boot up.

Finally, you're chasing diminishing returns.
Given a blind test, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference vs a regular SATA III SSD.

I'm pretty sure M.2 slot on that board is PCIE 2.0 x2.
So ... 980 Pro will run 8 times slower than it would in appropriate PCIE 4.0 x4 M.2 slot.
Absolute waste for 980 Pro.
