I have a lenovo ideapad y580 and when I turn it on the hard drive makes a clicking sound. I was thinking in replacing it with an SSD (Samsung 850 evo).
I don't really care about recovering the data, the thing is if I would be able to install a new SDD to replace the "broken" HDD and how would I install windows 10 again on it (free?).
Thanks in advance.

You have two tasks:
- determining whether your laptop uses standard SATA drive (according to this chart, it does), and whether it's 7mm or 9.5mm;
- how to open / replace it

As for Windows 10: If it had Windows 10 installed, it is already licensed, so go to Microsoft, download media, and install on your new drive.
