install SSD or buy new laptop?

Memory - 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 7670M (1 GB DDR3 dedicated)

Laptop - HP Pavilion g4-2049tx

I use photoshop, illustrator and multiple browsers' windows & tabs at the same time.

Is it wise to install an SSD in this laptop.. or should I look for a new one?

Well, an SSD helps only with some things and will not make computer faster. Mainly just faster booting and file management when it has to read or write.

it all about your budget. You need not only to install only ssd but also increase your ram. 4 Gb is not enough for the program you run. If you cannot change PC I would recommend you to install 4 gb more of ram and a top tier SSD like samsung 250 evo etc.

If you can afford a new PC go for Lenevo Ideapad 310 it has enough specs to run the program you required plus it is affordable you will get it around 500

its depend on what u are looking to do with it.if its just for photoshop and basic task then it is still good.just upgrade ur ram to atleast 8gb if u want to multitask more and yeah a ssd will be 100% better.u can take out the hdd and put it in an external enclosure.

thanks, i would rather place the original hard disk in a hard drive bay caddy and replace it in place of the optical drive.
