Hello
I have a Edimax BR 6226N wireless router and it had 2 external antennas which were not detachable and i bought 2 TP-LINK TL-ANT2408CL 8 dBi antennas with RP-SMA male connectors and i removed the old antennas installed the tp link antennas but it made no difference in the signal its same as before so installed the tp link antenna on my another router which is Sky Sagemcom router and it is also same no difference in signal BTW i am using Wirelessmon software to see the signal
Any Help Plz

I assume you are trying to boost your signal?

The antenna alone generally won't boost your signal output but may aid in signal reception depending on the output from the device.
If your router supports it, you should be able to increase the power output/transmit power settings.

See bottom setting.
Increasing the output rating will decrease the life of your router. As does anything you overclock beyond the default settings.

Other than that replacing an omnidirectional antenna with another omnidirectional antenna without boosting power output from the router will yield the same results.
You would need a high-gain directional antenna to improve signal strength as the power output would then...

You would need a high-gain directional antenna to improve signal strength as the power output would then be focused in a specific direction rather than dispersed evenly.

Another option to this is to change the Wireless Channel, Channel 1 will yield a lower frequency (meaning it can travel further) while channel 11 will yield a higher frequency (meaning it will travel less but results in less interference)
Non-overlapping signals are 1, 6, and 11

Thanks for the quick reply the but i dont have the option to increase the Power in the edimax router any idea how can i do it or is this option just in few routers

You might be able to get modded firmware for your router.
This is considered rather advanced and can result in you turning the router into a paper weight.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Broadcom_detection

DD-WRT will allow you to adjust the Tx Power if you can install it on your router.

So than i have to buy another router because this one isnt supported by DD WRT yet i would like your suggestion on best router to use with DD WRT :)

Really I don't bother with Modded Firmware. I buy what I need, if it doesn't work that's when I either return it or eat the cost for something better depending on if I kept it till it became obsolete or my specification needs changed beyond the return policy.

With that said, what's your budget, and what are you looking for?
If all you're looking to do is boost your signal to reach other wireless devices in your home, all you need is a repeater.
If you are looking for faster data rates etc, you could look at getting a new adapter and router that supports the new 802.11ac and one that suits your range needs.

Look for an outdoor directional repeater or access point instead of omnidirectional.
Run a wire to it if it's an access point outside and mount it in the direction of the external device/s. This will give you the best signal strength.

Devices are Phones so directional antennas are not usefull in that case as everybody in home is roaming around while using phones so thats why i use omni antennas

i am using 4 on all my routers as all other channels are to buzy in my neighborhood specially 6, 1, 11
