Hi,

So I've just been trying to install windows 10 from a usb stick. Usually this is standard for me but things have gone crazily wrong this time around.

My pc is a new build and I'm trying to install windows 10 to an m.2 ssd. Whenever we got to the installation window it kept saying "no device drivers were found".

So I went into CMD and cleaned the drive and Formatted the drive to gpt. I then proceeded to reboot and try the installation and now the usb stick is not being recognised at all. On my pc or my laptop. The message comes up as the directory name is invalid.

Have I completely bricked my usb? Is there anyway to recover my usb? Is there anyway to install windows 10 onto my m.2 drive as it's the only one I have for my new build?

Much appreciated.

How did you create the USB?

Possibly try a different USB port?
Created the usb using windows media creation tool. X64. Went through to the installations n window before it prompted the error. Went and cleaned the my ssd and partition. Then proceeded to convert to gpt and restarted pc. Now my pc and laptop won't recognise the usb stick.

Tried all my USB 2 and 3 ports and the ports on my laptop. It gives me the error message 'directory name is invalid'.

I'm absolutely stumped. All I wanted to do was install windows 10 like I've done before. Now I'm a usb stick down.

Apologies for the second thread on a similar issue.

I'm trying to install windows 10 64bit from usb onto my m.2 ssd. Fresh install.

I keep getting up to the installation screen where is prompts me with the message 'no device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, then click ok"

I've tried troubleshooting this through Google and following all the steps from cleaning the drive, making a new partion and converting drive into gpt.

Nothing is working. Still getting to the same screen with the same message.

Is it my m.2? Please help!!!!
