Installation help

hello, I'm putting a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608016 onto a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128544&Tpk=gigabyte%20z77x%20ud3h and when installing the backing plate it tells me if i have a LGA1366 & LGA1156 to remove the rubber inlay and to leave it for the LGA775 i have a LGA1155 it is compatible but don't know if i should remove it or leave it help would b appreciated.

What makes you think it is compatible with the LGA1155? Does it say it is in the instructions because Newegg doesn't list it as compatible?

I would follow the LGA1156 instructions.

Actually I would return it unless it says somewhere it is compatible with LGA1155.

You must have got an older manual her's and updated one. It seems that the installation for 1155 is the same as the 1156.

It seems that the installation for 1155 is the same as the 1156. < if a cooler uses 1156 mount it can also use 1155.

Strange that Newegg has some of the 1156 that don't include 1155. That made me believe something was different This was one of them that was listed without the 1155.

What SR-71 mentioned is the socket compatibility Intel retained for aftermarket coolers. The LGA 1155/1156 are also referred to as socket H.
