Hi!, I'm having way longer installation times of a lot of programs in my system and I can't figure it out why and obviously how to solve this. This is speaking in comparison with some friends that have even slower machines but faster times.
This is all the info I have, but, as I don't know where my problem is, I don't know what info is relevant or useless. =(

OS:
Windows 7 64 bits, installed in an SSD
(with an HDD for normal storage)

Core:

AMD FX (tm)- 8320 Eight-Core Processor
CPUID: 600f20
Microcode: 60000822
CPU Frequency: 3.762 GHz
CPU Ratio: 17.5
Cache L1: 256 KB
Cache L2: 8192 KB
Cache L3: 8192 KB
Core VID: 1.2750V
Current Core: 1.016V
Core Number: 8
CPU Stepping: 0

BIOS: OC Genie II mode.

AMD Cool n' quiet: DISABLED

IOMMU Mode: DISABLED
Core C6 State: ENABLED
HPC Mode: DISABLED
Onboard LAN Controller: ENABLED
LAN Option ROM: DISABLED
Network Stack: DISABLED
SATA Mode: AHCI Mode
HD Audio Controller: ENABLED
HPET: ENABLED

Have 2x4gb ram and both say this:

Memory Type: DDR3 SDRAM
Max Bandwidth: DDR3-1777 (888MHZ)
Manufacture: Kingston
Part number: KHX1866C10D3 / 4G
Serial Number: 6a208640
SDRAM Cycle Time: 1.1250ns (1CLK)
DRAM tCL: 10.7500ns (10CLK)
DRAM tRCD: 11.7500ns (11CLK)
DRAM tRP: 10.7500ns (10CLK)
DRAM tRAS: 32.1250ns (29CLK)
DRAM tRFC: 260.0000ns (232CLK)
DRAM tWR: 15.0000ns (14CLK)
DRAM tWTR: 7.5000ns (7CLK)
DRAM tRRD: 5.0000ns (5CLK)
DRAM tRTP: 7.5000ns (7CLK)
DRAM tFAW: 27.0000ns (24CLK)
DRAM tRC: 44.7500ns (40CLK)

Thinking that maybe it's a Hard drive issue, crystaldisk gives me this
for both, the SSD and the HDD:

Have HWINFO but the logs are in a weird format in CSV and I can't
use them in excel so I could copy those.

I'm just hitting blindly to where the "heck" the problem could be. =/

EDIT: SSD works GREAT. HDD is my nightmare.

EDIT2: I put an USB hard drive and tried that, the installation is ALMOST AT THE SAME SPEED THAN MY HDD. O.O
Went all around the build trying to find if something was wrong but I only found this:
(The white thing it's the SATA cable (I think), it goes to a single port in a SATA 3~4 double port in the Motherboard (MSI 970A-G46), you can see next to it there's another one.... I don't know if that's supposed to be left like that).
https://ibb.co/b0EvLk

Honestly now I'm very frustrated because I can't know what the problem is... Should I change what?, maybe buy another SATA cable and connect both?... I don't know. :'(

So what if it takes you somewhat longer than your friends to install programs? What if it takes you 5 minutes to install a program but it takes "them" 3.5 minutes? So what?

If that's the only "problem" you're experiencing, count your blessings. I mean how many programs do you install each day?

But my friend, it's not that I'm upset because they install faster... it's because there's something in this PC that it's dragging me back slower than it should be.
It's like buying a 8 gb RAM... and when you install it gives you 4 gb...
So yes, there's lots of people with 4 gb RAM... but it's not right that your 8 gb behaves like a 4 gb.

In this case, this PC shouldn't be slower...

And it's indeed frustrating because I can't know why it's happening or exactly where it's the problem and how to solve it.
=/

In all candor it's hard for me to be sympathetic to your problem if (as you've stated) the ONLY problem you're experiencing is that it takes the system slightly longer to install a program than you think it should. I'm assuming, of course, that you're not in the habit of installing dozens of programs daily so that the expenditure of add'l time to install myriad programs would indeed constitute a significant problem. If, on the other hand, it's apparent that the programs run at a significantly slower pace than they should (or you think they should) that's a "horse of a different color".

But when someone can install a program in 15 minutes and the same program takes me 5 hours... there MUST be something there not functioning as it should. =(

Well that IS a "horse of a different color". Your original query provided no such installation time discrepancy; you left the impression (at least to me) that the difference was not much more than a few minutes. If it takes you five hours to install a program that should be normally installed within 15 minutes or so, AND THAT INORDINATE INSTALLATION TIME APPLIES TO PROGRAM AFTER PROGRAM, that indeed is a problem.

It's hard for me to believe that could be your only problem. Surely your system must exhibit other problems involving the "slows". I assume you've run the usual "housekeeping" chores to determine an absence of malware, scanning your disk(s), checking their health, pruning unnecessary programs/data, disk cleanups, running sfc /scannow, and the like. Perhaps in the final analysis a resetting/reinstallation of the OS will be your final option.

Almost nothing, because I use the SSD for most of the things (yes, it's affecting the health for the write/read cycles everyone is afraid... but I have this PC for about 2 years and almost no problems). But as the SSD is very little, I must install games (mostly) in the HDD. and THERE is when the problem started.
*BUT* it seems it's a "write-only" problem...
I have BF1 installed in the HDD, And it works almost flawless, that's why I thought at first it was a problem with the HDD. (It could be the processor too as I read here that it doesn't get along with my motherboard... but I'm using a watercooling so temps are always low on that side, but I don't know if there's another problem).
But again, the SSD boots me into windows 7 in seconds and it works perfect, it's everything I put in the HDD the problem, but again, only in the write part.
The problem started indeed with Dragon Age: Inquisition, as a lot of STEAM games aren't "too" big and they take "not that long" in install... but DA:I is another beast by itself.
I wouldn't even noticed if I wouldn't ask someone how long did it took.
The times (can't remember now the exact values) were about 5 times difference.
I also thought it was maybe a RAM problem, but that wouldn't explain why the SSD gives me no problems at all.
The other day I passed Auslogic disk defrag (as the Windows 7 defrag seemed to freeze at 1%), and several times and I even "optimized" the HDD there.
Tried again and the difference it's still there.
Then I tried to install again DA:I.... and it took me 3.75 hours.
(the installing alone, not considering the downloading).

But, as the OS is installed in the SSD.... should it help me if I reset?... to me again it seems the problem it's only in the HDD write section....
That's why I opened the case and took that picture just in case there was a cable missing. =(

PS: That's why also I tried to see how it goes with an USB connected external hard disk....
and there the difference was minimal.
So... maybe the RAM, maybe the motherboard, maybe the cpu, maybe the installation of the hardware, maybe the disk, maybe....

In the Aulogics one, there is a HDD evaluation, and it shows the same as in crystaldisk... "good" and everything in green....

OK...give us some actual numbers, instead of just "longer".

You mention 15 mins vs 5 hours. Where are you installing from? A CD/DVD, USB, or online somewhere?
If online...what is your internet connection speed vs your friends? (if installing from DVD, there may still be a large component it needs to gather from the interwebs)

What are you installing, and how large is it?

If you were to install this to the SSD instead, how long would it take?

DA:I takes 30 minutes to my friend and 3.5 hours to me. (exactly the same internet speed, verified both with speedtest), no antivirus enabled at all, disk defragmented (tried that just in case it was the problem).
I noticed that if I overclock to 3.75 GHz, it goes a bit fast. (a bit, but yes, faster... didn't finish to take the whole time).

The setup of my friend is the same except he has an FX4100 while I have an FX8320.

My only hope was that something in the pictures or in the mem data and spec. was clearly wrong so everyone would say: "Oh!, it's that setting, change it to...".
BUT if everything in the BIOS is ok for everyone here then I just run out of options.

I'm willing to install any another program just to check, but as I said, happened with BF1 too.
But again, my only hope was a cable connection, BIOS setting.... and if all of that is good, then I can't know what's happening....

Was also crossing my fingers that someone would have a similar setup to compare.... =/

Thanks. =(
