Question Installed 2 16gb DDR3 1600 (4x4 each) Only shows up as 8gb on both windows and in BIOS

My pc is old, but i expected it to work, i checked a wmic command and it said my pc supports up to 32gb of ram
I mean i wouldve at least expected it to show 16, as each stick is 16gb, but 8 is weird
I tried resetting the bios to default settings, nothing happened

The mobo site seems to show 8GB per slot max.

Thank you bob, i only just realized that the motherboard and cpu can both have different limits of memory size
It turned out that the sticks i got were part of a 4x4G kit, so each stick having 4GB of memory, i contacted the seller, and im returning them

Just an FYI if your shooting for 32 Gb's get 4x8 Gb's sticks. There is ddr3 16Gb sticks but there registered memory for Xeon CPU AKA server boards.

I have seen ddr3 16 Gb non registered but on shady web pages. Just a heads up. 😀
