I have hp compaq dc 7700 core 2 duo
It has 4 RAM slots ..... I had previously 2 Rams (1+1 gb) installed in two slots
But now I have 4 Rams (1+1+1+1gb) ... I have installed all of them in 4 slots .. but it shows only 3gb

I have win 7 home premium 32 bit

Solution
There is nothing wrong with your hardware. The problem is that you are using a 32 bit version of Windows, and it only supports up to 3GBs of RAM.
Upgrade to a 64 bit version of Windows and you will be able to use all 4GBs of RAM.

Only shows 3gb where ? in the bios or in Windows ?

Also, which graphics card, if you are using onboard graphics, then that would explain the missing RAM< reserved for graphics.

You have a 32 bit windows the limit is 3.85gb on a 32 bit version.

Part of why you only see 3GB instead of 4 lies in your OS. You have a 32 bit version. It maxes out at 4GB, but then it reduces the amount of RAM from there for various internal addressing space. Also if you are using an integrated GPU (not a GPU on a card) that will eat up RAM from what Windows has usable as well. However using a discreet GPU like you are,..leaves whatever the Maximum your motherboard supports and the limits and reservations of your 32-bit OS.
