I sold my 1080ti and bought a 5700xt. I uninstalled all the nvidia drivers, installed the new card, installed the amd drivers from their website.

If I play a game in windowed mode, it is 60fps but if I go full screen it goes to 30fps

Any ideas?

I have just reformatted my computer to start fr sh and I'm still only getting 30fps when using vsync

I also get awful tearing without despite using a freesync monitor with freesync enabled

I'm very close to returning this and getting a 2070 super instead

What is your monitor? Which cable is connected between the monitor and the card?
Windows search bar > Display settings > Advanced display settings > Display adapter properties > Monitor tab. What is the refresh set to there?

Also, was there anything wrong with your old 1080Ti?

Lg 34UM88C-P

Iced tried using HDMI and display port csbles

Windows shows 60hz

Was nothing wrong with the 1080ti I just wanted to sidegrade and save myself money since people are still paying alot for the card. I actually sold it for more than I paid for it 2 years ago

If it's not your Radeon settings, then it might be Windows not playing nice.
"Go to game's .exe, right click and go to properties, go to compatibility tab and put a tick in "disable fullscreen optimizations" box. Also, turn off anything related to gamedvr in windows 10 game settings."

Thanks

I'll try that when I get home. But if it was a windows issue, wouldn't it have been a problem with my 1080ti too?

Different software. You didn't experience any issues via NVCP, right?
But now, all of sudden, it does? And all you did was change gpus.
You removed the Nvidia drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller, and then installed AMD graphics drivers?

Not only did I remove using DDU, but I formatted the entire computer and started from scratch

Seems like it must be an issue between my monitor and my GPU

I hooked my computer up to my 4k oled using RGB 4:4:4 and got 60fps vsynced with no trouble at all

Took the same cable and hooked it up to my monitor and it is back to 30fps

Makes no sense to me

Did you ever disable 'game bar' and 'game mode'?
Windows search > Settings > Gaming.

Any capture cards installed?
Do you normally have the Tv connected as well?
Yes I did

I actually do have a capture card installed, but it hasn't been used in years

I borrwed a 4k Samsung monitor to test on and it works perfectly on this monitor. I think I'm just going to buy myself a new monitor. This card + a monitor will still cost less than a 2070 super
