Hey I'm having trouble getting my new graphics card to work. Switched out my old nvidia 635 for an amd radeon 290 but when I plug it into the display it says no input. The GPU fan is on so it's connected to power. Here's my computer specs best I know.

i7 4770 3.4 ghz processor
Not sure about the mobo but it's a dell xps 8700 if that helps.
Corsair 750w PSU
2 sticks of DDR3 ram 4gb each. Brand is Samsung

My old nvidia works just fine when I plug it back in. But when I put in the amd its a no-go even tho it has power.

Read on another thread that it might have something to do with secure boot but I disabled that and still no go. Downloaded the AMD driver too just in case but that didn't help. Really lost here so I could use the help.

Not sure if the card is a dud or I'm just doing something wrong.

Might be an important thing to note: I'm using a dvi cable but my monitor doesn't take dvi so I have an adapter to VGA to connect it to the monitor. I don't use this on the nvidia because I can just use a VGA cable.

That's all the info I can think of.

Solution
IF the first 2 solutions dont work.More than likely its your card has sagged a bit during installation.imo re-seat your card but when putting in locking screw support the card up with your hand while locking the screw down. Ive done this myself an seen so many others do the same.resulting in the no input on your display or black screen good luck
