Hello, my new CPU I just ordered FX8320e seems to work fine and installed it fine, but if I have the PC running for 10-15 minutes it will freeze/restart itself, it's random if it chooses to restart or freeze and have to manually restart.

I've heard the magic you guys do on this site and would like some help :)

I've also put in my old CPU, and it works fine without problems,

CPU: (This is my old CPU Phenom II X6 as my new one can not run 5 minutes before freezing.) https://gyazo.com/e8ea9043c63e408be9bbc0127e749cfa

Thanks for all the replies!

base on my experience, it could be a heating issue. Check your bios and see what temperature its on. Another case could be a driver conflicted. . . .I had this issue for 2 days and figured out it was my driver. I'm not an expert but thats what I assume.

I was thinking this, I would open a quite a heavy game to load (arma 3) and the temperature of the CPU would get up to 55-56C before freezing, I do not think it would be a driver conflict as I recently re-installed windows (Clean) I'm starting to think it is just a faulty CPU piece.

So I should buy a new power supply? I'm not the best with PSU's I know how to remove/install it, do you have any suggestions on what power supply I should get?

Would there be anything else causing this?

So you think that with the CPU it was nearing the limit of the PSU and that because it was a old PSU (around 4-5 years) it was not as stable as a new one and would jolt over the limit while under pressure? having a 750w power supply would fix this? :)

Thanks!

Thanks man, I'll try a new PSU with 750w. Also it only goes out when im doing stuff on the PC E.G Youtube video player, game running. Could the PSU do that still?

Alright, so it's probably this, as I've done 50+ hours of trial and error with many different ways of trying to solve this issues and its either this, or its a faulty CPU chip.

CPUs rarely go bad but you never know, could happen. On the other hand I have seen so many PSUs go bad and repaired many. It's usually a bad capacitor, the big one/s for output mostly. It still may work but has dropped a lot of power and gives "dirty" power with a lot of voltage variation. That makes for very unstable system.

So you think my PSU is giving not as much as it should be? Seems like that might be the issue, everything is pointing towards the PSU. May I ask what temperature should the CPU be running at (while playing a arma 3 game etc) Idling degrees is 45-51 or so.

Okay well thats good :) do you think I should take it to a PC repair shop see what they say about it before buying a new PSU.

It's great fixing my PC for a new CPU on Christmas >.> haha
