installed a new ga-z97x-ud5h and i7-4790k and get Blue Screen Of Death

When windows fails to start i get the options of startup repair or start windows normally. I can access the bios setup before this as well. LED indicator on the mobo states A0

Did you move an existing Windows installation onto this motherboard? That almost never works since motherboard drivers are typically very different. A fresh install is needed.

Yes, you will need to do a clean OS install with the new motherboard and CPU.

Am i able to retain all my files if i boot from a jumpdrive with windows 7 reinstallation on it?

You might be able to, but back up any important files just in case. I didn't think it would work but I gave it a try and no dice. Had to do a complete reinstall. Had nothing to lose but to be fair I wasn't surprised since the old install was from an lga775 motherboard. A0 I believe is the 'all normal' code (that's what my ud5h is reporting at the moment).
