Installed a new motherboard and CPU but computer is now turning itself off when gaming

I put in a new motherboard and processor today and when gaming after about 5 minutes my computer turns itself off and can't figure out why. I have the following specs:

AMD FX 8350 8 Core 4GHz
990x-Gaming SLI motherboard
8gb Ram
Asus Geforce GTX 1050TI 4gb
500W PSU

Computer runs fine until I start gaming, none of my processor cores are parked, my gpu runs at about 50degrees when gaming and my cpu at about 35degrees. Tried underclocking GPU. Checked all of my connectors to make sure I attached everything and my Bios is up to date. Checked a website online which also stated that my 500w PSU is enough for my set up. Please help?

Did you clean install windows? You should.

not tried that yet. will give it a go. when I installed new hardware windows 10 did do some changes on boot but will see if it helps. thanks for the suggestion

Clean install is the best bet to avoid corrupted drivers and maximize performance.

Have now tried a clean install but the same issue occurs

Don't know if this info makes much difference but when it turns itself off the power light on front stays lit up as if it is turned on when It isnt

have you tried resetting all bios settings to default?
what brand and model is your PSU?
what spec is your RAM?

My bios is up to date and at default. My psu just says ATX-500B and ram is Adata DDR3 1600(11) 8GX16 U-DIMM 8gb

Have you tried the RAM in a different slot.

Also, that PSU seems to be an extreme budget PSU. I'm seeing a lot of comments on different sites saying it's not up to scratch for gaming.

General rule of thumb, where possible always pay the extra and buy a reputable PSU

What processor/mobo did you used to have?

might try a new PSU then. This is the one I got supplied with from the company who built my gaming computer originally. I did have the AMD Athlon X4 860K with a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-HD2

If this is your PSU , change it , very very poor quality and most likely your issue.

Thanks for your help everyone. I got a new psu corsair CX650 and no longer getting the issue
