Installed a new ram but my PC doesnt recognize it, now my PC couldnt recognize my old ram either

I tried installing a new 16 gb ram for my new PC, it doesnt recognize the new ram but it was still working fine. So i tried switching new ram to my old ram. My mobo started beeping (2 short beeps and 1 long beep) and there was no display, so i switched my ram's back and it was still beeping. This is my first time upgrading my PC and Im afraid I broke my mobo. pls help

have you tried new ram in and clear cmos : jumper shown on page https://www.manualslib.com/manual/414969/Asus-M5a97-Le-R2-0.html?page=20#manual
