Hi Guys,

I have a Ryzen 5 3600 with an Asus Prime B450 Plus board. I have a Samsung Evo SSD and a 1 TB HDD that are connected to my system. I bought an NVME drive today and followed the process below to install it:

  1. Installed NVME drive
  2. Installed Windows onto drive
  3. Booted onto new Windows on NVME drive

Once into Windows I noticed that neither the SSD nor the HDD were being detected. At this point I noticed that they were in sata port 5 and 6 and read that if an NVME drive is installed in this board that it uses sata 5 and 6, so I unplugged them from 5 and 6 and installed them in 1 and 2.

Well now I am getting nothing from my PC. The motherboard turns on, all the lights turn on and the fans spin, but I get no display. I have tried everything below and still am getting no display:

  1. Re seated ram
  2. Reset cmos
  3. Removed NVME drive
  4. Installed SSD and HDD into sata 5 and 6
  5. Checked all cables, nothing is loose

I’m at a loss. It’s like my motherboard is bricked, but I don’t know what could have caused it.

Solution
Did you update your mobo bios? I'm asking the obvious but maybe you didn't update to the latest drivers. If that doesn't work then chances are you have a bad mobo.
