Installed another 8gb of ram to total of 16gb (4x4), but only showing 4gb???

Title says it all, I first built my PC with 8gb (2x4 dual-channel) of ram and decided to get another 2x4 kit of the exact same ram. But when I finished installing it onto PC, the BIOS and system info only show it has 4gb??? HELP

as you see, the mainboard didin't liked the mix

it is easier to get 2x8gbs ram kit and return the new kit and sell the old one

this is the motherboard I am using. it says it supports up to 64gb of ram, so 16gb shouldnt be an issue.

i didn't said the mainboard can't handle 4 sticks, i said it didn't liked the mix you did and that is the way of showing it, you can buy 16 gb modules too, but i wouldn't bother with more than 2x8gbs

Try it with just the new RAM. Don't get the old and new mixed up, because even though they are the "same", if not bought in a kit, there is a chance they will not work properly together. When I am fooling around with RAM, I put a small dot on the old RAM with a sharpie so I don't get them mixed up.

2 modules of ram must be reported as 8 gbs of ram, in dualchannel, that is normal

nvm I got it to work!!! turns out I sat the ram slots incorrectly. silly me
