Specs: core 2 duo e8400, 8gb ram, RX460 4gb

basically the issue im having is ever since i installed my gpu (a little over a year ago) my computers audo will not work, at least not fully, i had my old tv hooked up with and hdmi cable and the tv luckily had an audio jack so i was able to hook my amplifier up to the tv. but if i were to try to plug it into my computers audio jack it just wouldnt work. the tv i was using bit the dust so i upgraded to a higher quality one that is 1080p rather than 720p the problem is it does not have an audio jack so im stuck with the tv's speakers which is better than nothing but i would much rather use my amplifier so if anyone has any idea's on why this is happening and how i can fix it i would greatly appreciate it. also im not sure with category to put this in so i'm just going to put it in systems.

Solution
The audio jack isn't working because sound is routed thru your GPU HDMI.
Go to Sound settings and switch the default audio device to the motherboard HD sound...it could be Realtek HDA.
