Board: MSI H61M-P31
CPU: Intel i7 3770
RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance
PSU: Corsair CX750M
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce 970 gtx

I have install the graphics card, previously there was none, and it have ample power. When I turn on my computer everything turns on, cpu, gpu, hard-drive, dvd drive, etc. however after left than a second the computer dies and then shortly after it tries to restart again.

I have checked elsewhere and the motherboard is compatible with the graphics card. I tried removing the CMOS battery. This lead to the computer turning on for about 5-6 seconds then dying, then returning to the 1 second die-start loop.

From reading the forums I believe this is something got to do with BIOS update or a driver issue, I am not sure how to install or update either of these on the computer when I can't get it to start.

Any help or solution would be most welcome. Thanks.

i am having a similar problem as the OP.... and to answer your question to him, yes, my pc boots with the card out.. i even updated my mobo to the latest version, just in case its "improved system stability" can be the fix.. but nothing. any thoughts ?
