I've followed every direction I could find on related Google searches on the first couple of pages. No solutions I've found have helped. For example, this is one of the sites with the most easy to understand solutions but none of them worked: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-regain-internet-access-after-installing-update-windows-10
I have no idea why this could be happening. I have had this computer since January, never had a hiccup. In Device Manager, the device shows up as working properly.
The only fishy thing is that when I disable the Ethernet Controller in Network Connections, then enable it again, it does not enable. When I close Network Connections and re-open it, its no longer there. It still shows that it is working properly in Device Manager, however, and when I restart my computer it is enabled and displayed as usual in Network Connections. Its just that it doesnt detect that there is any connection.
I really hope there is a solution someone can point me toward that I haven't tried yet or that is actually guaranteed to work. Thanks.
Ps. The Ethernet Controller is a Qualcomm Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)
