Installed new CPU and Cooler, no signal on monitor

Hi all today I attempted to install a Seidon 120V Liquid CPU Cooler and a AMD FX8350 4ghz processor. Now, I am not very good at computers but I followed the instructions and I installed it correctly. Now, when I went to plug it back in I get a 'No Signal' on my monitor. No, there's not even a flash of success of it being booted up, just a blank screen. My computer booted up fine without hearing any faults and it sounds fine. Any help?

Make sure you plugged the extra power connector (probably 12 pin molex) from the video card back into the motherboard.

Motherboard? What processor did you have? Do you have the correct BIOS revision to support your new CPU, if the board supports it?

Does your motherboard speaker make any sound?

video feeding from the mb or a discreet card? if you're running from a discreet card and can, try hooking to your MB's video output, the bios might have reset that setting.

is there a dr debug LED code available? any check LEDs?

Did you reseat the cpu at all during this process?

most importantly... did you ground yourself when you were touching things? Static is evil...

You probably just bumped the GPU during the install. Power the PC off, disconnect everything. Re-seat the GPU and RAM (* may as well since it will be off). Make sure the power and video cables are reconnected. Power it back on.

Also check that the monitor doesn't have an input switch/button. Sometimes hitting this will cause it to chance from auto-detect.

Bear in mind that if your motherboard and PSU aren't strong enough to support an FX 8350 your PC won't boot.

Why would he have unplugged a pcie power connecter in the first place? He swapped in a cpu. Its obvious his problem is cpu/motherboard related. If it isn't a AM3+ 990FX board he would at the minimum need a bios update.

Because he states "I am not very good at computers".
Were you there with him when he installed the new CPU? Do you know exactly what he did and did not unplug?
My pcie cable runs right over my cpu/heatsink. To remove my CPU, I have to unplug the pcie power.

What was your point in arguing with me anyway? Does it somehow cause him harm to double check that things are plugged in?
