Installed new graphics card and the monitor shows nothing

I just upgraded my graphics card from gtx 660 to gtx 1060, but nothing shows up to the monitor. I tried putting my old one in and it worked, but this new card wont display anything. Fans and everything works, it just wont display anything.

Did you make sure you plug in the 6/8 pin pcie power slot on the GXT 1060?
Did you make sure you using the graphic card's display ports?
Are you using a VGA monitor?

Im using vga monitor yes, i plugged the 6/8 pin and all. But it still gives me nothing. Could it be my motherboard? I have msi h170a pc mate, i have enough psu (550w). It just doesnt display anything.

You need an active adapter to convert your card's output to analog vga on your monitor.

If using VGA with 1xxx cards, you need active adapter as they don't output analog signal required by VGA monitor. Or use DVI cable if your monitor has it.

I solved it with using hdmi cable instead of dvi thanks anyways
