Make sure the card is locked into the correct pcie x 16 slot per your motherboard manual.

Make sure you have the power supply connectors properly plugged into the graphics card.

If so, you should see your card listed in Device Manager. Make sure its drivers are up to date.

Download and use this tool (If you are using Windows 7, I recommend using this tool in Safe Mode-press F8 during the Post screen (screen where you have a few seconds to boot into BIOS, usually the company logo when you turn on your PC like Dell, HP, ASUS, MSI and such appear depending on the brand of motherboard you have)). Once you download it, you simply run the program and it will do a clean Uninstall of your current drivers and even bits of older ones that it will detect for you. That's my recommendation when updating drivers every time and many folks agree too. Sometimes, when you simply uninstall older drivers and you didn't do a clean uninstall, there are bits and pieces left that can conflict with the newer drivers. Give that a try, also, make sure your card is seated properly in the PCI_Express slot closest to the CPU as that is usually the primary PCI-E slot for single GPU's. Also, make sure your card in connected to the PSU of your PC with the PSU's PCI-Express power connectors that are for your graphics cards.
