installed new ram now is beeping

I have a gateway gm5632e . I am trying to upgrade to 64bit and went ahead andmaxed out ram at 8gb. I didn't find any exact info on the motherboard so I got two 4gb sticks and a new video card.I installed it all and the computer beeped two regular beep and then two rapid multible beeps. So I imediantly new the computer wouldn't except 4gb sticks , so I removed them and reinstalled the factory ram. Then when I turned it back on it beeped again like before . So I removed the video card ,and still same . So I know its the ram causeing it . Why? Why will the original now not work?

Hello... 1) Most ddr2 MB's are 2 gb per slot... 2) After any change in hardware to the MB, and the BIO's reports them installed you must save the settings and exit/power down. 3) Your MB allows 8gb total, Non-ECC, 2 gb per slot... you have four Slots? TWO memory slots are paired up'd, check your manual for which ones are... when using different brand/model/size of sticks together, they need to be inserted into the proper Paired slots.

I'm unclear if you are trying two 4gb sticks in two slots? And if you aquired the proper memory types ( there are a many types/models ) ... But you can not run DDR3, ECC, or 4gb of DDR2 in one slot.

Don't ever change more than one hardware item at a time and Boot up... confusion to the BIO's and Windows can occur... complete hardware and driver installs ONE at a Time.

I would suggest first getting your ORIG parts booting agian... Try cleaning the Memory sticks and Original VIdeo Card with Rubbing alcohol and re-inserting... and make sure you have your Monitor and Power Cables, properly Plugged in.

Remain Calm and make sure you have not dis-lodged any other component or cable in your computer...

Try just one stick of of memory for booting... Try different memory slots.
If all fails try re-setting/clearing your BIO's, jumper on motherboard... Once you get a good BOOT save changes and exit/power down.

Try adding other Original stick agian for a GOOD Boot, save changes and exit/power down.
