Installed new video driver, sound driver gone

Hi guys,

I installed a new video driver and caused my sound to disappear. the previous ati radeon driver is now shaded out in grey in the sound section. i re-installed the older driver and then deleted all sound drivers and downloaded the factory ones. no effect.

Did you look under the hardware and sound options in the control panel?

Try downloading the latesr ATI driver and choose uninstall to remove all aspects of the currently instaled driver. Then choose install and choose custom. Uncheck the installation of the ATI audio driver and install without the audio driver. Be sure control panel audio is configured properly as mentioned. GL.
