I have just purchased a new CPU, motherboard and RAM setup for my PC and after installation there is no boot but the fans power up and a DRAM LED lights up. I have tried many solutions suggested in other threads but have had no success. I have tried different DIMM slots with one and two sticks of RAM. I have also tried to separate RAM kits, one at 3000Mhz and one at 2400Mhz.

The setup I am trying to get working is;
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (with stock cooler)
Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X370-F Gaming
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x8GB 2400Mhz
GPU: GTX 1070
PSU: Corsair CX600M

If anyone could advise it would be hugely appreciated.

0401 is the very first bios released by Asus, after original 0217. In the case where indeed the motherboard is flashed with 0401 you will have to either find a supported cpu with 0401 or 0217 (check above link), or ask from Asus to send you a boot kit. You could also visit a repair store and ask them to update the mobo with the latest bios.

Somewhere on the motherboard, there should be a sticker with the bios version currently running. Can you identify it? It will need bios 3803 for this cpu. Did you buy the motherboard new?

The Motherboard was bought new and, if i have the right sticker, the BIOS is 0401.

Thanks for this info! I am going to get in touch with my local repair shop and see if they can flash the updated BIOS to the motherboard.
