Installed Nvidia Driver. Got Black Screen Instead.

I have installed an Nvidia Geforce 740M 64-bit (notebook) for my laptop.
All of a sudden it received it a black screen.

I thought it was because I installed a notebook version of the driver (since I didn't know the difference between a notebook and a laptop at the time).

Anyways, my laptop is an ASUS F550L Series (Notebook PC) (Model: F550L - X0145H)

Intel Core i7 - 4500U, 1.8GHz
1TB HDD
8GB Memory
Windows 8.1
64-bit

It runs on apparently 2 integrated graphics to my knowledge upon looking on my laptop stickers and dxdiag.
Intel HD Family (something)
Nvidia Geforce 740M

So, yeah. Black Screen all around, even when I turned it on after turning it off.

Hi,

Start by connecting an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it and if you do press the Windows key + P at the same time and select Disconnect Projector or Display Only then press Enter. If these troubleshooting step will not work, do try these other steps that may help.
- Do a hard reset, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then see if it will load up.
- If it doesn't load reseat the RAM, remove all the RAM for couple of seconds then put them back in and see if it will load up.
- If all these will not work I would suggest contacting Asus support for a repair if it's still under the factory warranty.

I followed your instructions and to my surprised it semi-worked.
I managed to do a system restore to the point before I installed the nvidia driver.

Now I came across a new problem. Every time I turn on the laptop, it was normal for a few minutes and then suddenly it is just unbearably slow, the responses are so delayed, Crtl-alt-delete sometimes gives me error messages and finally...it would just freeze.

Okay, so far upon my new discovery.
After a few minutes of it slowing down, I somewhat found out why it slowed down but I couldn't find the cause.

The CPU and the Memory Ram gets full which causes everything to slow down.
At this point I'm not exactly sure on how to make it quicker again.
