I have my speakers plugged in to the back of my desktop. I have checked on the control panel > Sound, and the speakers are shown as "not plugged in" so I cannot set them as default. All I see is "Realtek Digital Output" and "Realtek Digital Output(Optical)".
I've gone in to my drivers and uninstalled both Realtek and NVIDIA audio, but they reinstall when I start the computer and nothing is fixed.
I have gone in to BIOS. I have a Sabertooth X58 motherboard. There is no option to set Onboard Soundcard Integrated Audio to enabled - that just doesn't exist. All there is, is some option for "High Definition Audio" which is set to enabled.
I'm a computer noob and the fact I installed this graphics card and have it working but for sound to have taken up hours of my time trying to fix is blowing my mind right now. I don't get how my computer isn't registering the speakers are plugged in?
