I installed some ram, and I think I messed up really bad. When I put I my new sticks of ddr2 into my PC, the monitor wouldn't turn on, and the fan was loud, while multiple beeps went off over and over. I have a vostro 410, someone please help me!

I decided to go back and put the old sticks in, and it still didn't work. I'm really stressed out about this, what should I do? Do you thinmk I put the sticks in the wrong way or damaged my motherboard?

Update: Not sure how I messed this up, but I seem to get two consecutive beeps when I boot it if that helps.

Usually beeps means the boards not happy with the ram (or something else). Strange that going back to your old ram beeps too. My suggestion is to make sure you have them in the right slots. Because with 4 slots, a set 2 are suppose be used first. Its different on every board, but it's either 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. Either the ones with the black clips or the white ones.

Thanks for the reply man. I've really anxious and worried about this
. Do you think I should install them one stick at a time?
