Recently bought a ryzen 7 5800x on ebay.

Installed on my ASUS TUF B450-PLUS after removing the old ryzen 5 2600.

The mobo is compatible and i have a 650w psu. Gtx 1060. No issues with power.

Black screen

Tried resetting the bios via little two pin thing.

Put old cpu back in to complete bios reset

Black acreen

What the hell is going on?

This is my only pc and i do all of my work from it.

UPDATE: i just tried disconnecting the gpu and hooking an hdmi straight into the motherboard. Checked to make sure everything is seated/etc and still just a black screen. No mobo/no bios/no boot.

You will need to update your Bios to version 3002

"- Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.1
  • Support Smart Access Memory for Ryzen 3000 Series Processors
  • Fix the L3 cache performance in AIDA64
  • Improved system performance
  • Improved system compatibility
  • Improved memory performance"

Go to the Tools section of Bios and use the EZ Flash 3 utility and a USB with the Bios file. Follow instructions as per page 6 in your Manual.

Should the Bios file be corrupted and no Bios available then use the system recovery DVD as per page 7 in your manual.
1. For the 5800x you need bios version 2409.

2. You NEED to connect the GPU. The Ryzen has NO iGPU

And to reset the bios with the 2600, disconnect from power (TAKE OUT THE POWER CORD), and take ou the cell battery from the motherboard for 10 minutes.

Reconnect the GPU
Reconnect the power, and try to boot.
Update the bios to 2409
