Installed Ryzen CPU without opening latch

I bought a ryzen cpu / MB combo today and in my excitement to get it together I installed the CPU into the socket without first opening the latch. I realized what I did soon as I did it, but it did drop in all the way. I quickly took it out and opened the latch and re-installed, but my question is did I harm the socket installing it with the latch down?

If you didn't bend any pins on your CPU then it's fine.

it shouldn't go in at all with the latch closed, so as long as no pins are bent and the cpu is currently correctly installed then you shouldn't have a problem. does the system light up?

Thanks for the responses, I feel better now. I will let you know once its up and running still building it.

It posts! For some reason it did not like my old G510 keyboard, it would not recognize it, had to switch to a generic keyboard.
