Installed Windows 8 onto my new SSD; how do I wipe the old TB HDD?

Hi all,

So I've successfully installed a new mobo, CPU, cooler, ram and SSD.

It turned on beautifully and I installed windows 8 onto my 250GB SSD. How can I then wipe- yes, wipe- my old HDD. I've saved all documents, photos and files that were of importance to an external hard drive so I literally want everything off of the internal TB HDD for that 'fresh' feeling.

Also, I've got the solwise home ethernet adaptor 200 Mbps (The ones that run through one's electrical sockets). It's asked me to install driver software for it, which I have, but that then requires NET Microsoft 3.5+ to be installed also. It won't let me do that, as it's already installed on my PC...

Weird. Anyways, any info you have would be great!

are you looking to use it in the same PC or give it away? if its the same PC i would just right click on the drive and format. Then check Quick Format and then click Format. If there are other unwanted partitions on there you can go do disk management, delete all the partitions, and then make one big one or partition it out how you want it.

If you are looking to give it away and want to make sure its wiped clean then you can just download CCleaner and then in the Tools Section there is a drive Wiper. Tell it to wipe Entire drive, do a 3 Pass Wipe (Nothing will be recoverable from this) and then select the drive letter of the drive and let it go!

Thanks for the response- I formatted the drive and now it is fresh and ready for my next PC chapter.

I have my network adaptors plugged in, but can't connect to the internet- the only option it is providing me so that it may fix itself. That isn't possible- what else can I do?

where is each adapter plugged into? One should be where the PC is then have an ethernet cable connected from the PC to the AC Adpater Then the other AC Adapter should be next to your Router and then connected with an Ethernet cable to the router

I fixed it by downloading these drivers on the above site. Thanks all for your help, but looks like tomorrow I'm back to Battlefield 4 😀

oh it was the network drives not anything to do with the AC Powerline Adapters lol glad you got it all workin!
