So I'm going to install my new SSD and I know a fresh installation windows is recommended. But how about my games and some files? Can I just copy those from my old HDD and paste it on my SSD? I think I've heard somewhere before that if I copy the files directly from HDD to SSD could make some files corrupted. Is that true?
And can somebody simply answer this, does rapid mode help improve a game's performance? Pros and Cons?

I'd appreciate any tips/advice!

Solution
RAPID mode will have little to offer gamers considering games rarely depend on drive performance anyhow aside from loading maps and levels. In that area, it might have some benefit, but mostly rapid will benefit in other areas like large single file transfers and similar operations.

As far as games and applications that are installed on your current OS. You will want to reinstall those. There are many system files that installations rely on that are not in those applications folders and will not have the appropriate entries in the registry in order to operate correctly.

If the files and folders are just that, the downloaded installer files or other files and folders that are not actually INSTALLED on the system already, copying them...

Hmm I see. Well I do play some games with big maps but does rapid mode have any cons? Does it affect the SSD's lifetime?
Yeah I guess I'll just make a fresh install of everything. Thanks!

I actually read that article earlier. Thanks for the help! Have a good one!
