I built a computer about 5 years ago. I used the Asus H87M-Plus mobo.

I did not add a graphics card. I opted to go with the HD Haswell graphics built into the P7 processor.

Now I find myself resorting to ZoomText to compensate for my loss of eye sight. I need a bit more graphics processing power.

So I have a GT-1030 low profile silent graphics card ready to be installed into my NoFan pc.

I looked at the docs for the mobo, and do not see any jumpers for enabling/disabling the on board graphics.

I do see a BIOS setting that enables/disables VGA detection. Default is enabled.

So do I just install the graphics card and reboot?

Thanks in advance for the guiding light...

Solution
Just power down and unplug the pc.
Put in the 1030.
Then plug monitor cable into gpu.
Then plug pc into wall.
Then power the computer on.

Usually it is that simple and the motherboard will default to using the gpu if the monitor is plugged into the gpu.

Sometimes a bios update or some changed bios settings may be needed, but id see if it works fine before changing anything else.
