So I put a new hard drive in my computer along with windows 8.1 but in the BIOS all that is showing up is the hard drive not the CD rom to load off the windows disk, am I doing something wrong? It's what I did when I built it. Maybe it's different can someone guide me in the right direction?

The cd rom drive isn't showing up in your boot priority tab? Check all cables going to your cd drive if they are secure and secure them. After you do this, power on the pc, check the bios and if the cd drive shows up in there, move it to the top of the boot priority list then reboot

Hey there, Iamdivinity7!

I'd recommend you to make sure that you've got the SATA cables properly connected to the HDD and the DVD/CD-ROM. Make sure that you've got the SATA Ports enabled in BIOS. Another thing you could try is resetting BIOS by re-seating the CMOS battery or the jumper on the motherboard. However, this would get your BIOS settings back to factory defaults, so make sure you know how to re-configure them afterwards. Here's a tutorial about it: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS

Another one that might be helpful to you is the Clean install tutorial for Windows 8 from their community: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2299-clean-install-windows-8-a.html

Let us know how it goes! Good luck! :)
