Installing a Samsung EVO 850 SSD

Hi all.

I have recently bought a Samsung EVO SSD, 250GB as extra storage for a few games which I play extensively. I got home and used a brand new SATA cable and connected it to the MoBo, and connected the SSD to the PC, and booted. I then downloaded the newest version of Samsung Magician and the software detected the SSD fine, however Windows has not recognised it and I cannot move anything over to it.

Have I missed out on a key step in the installation process?

Any help is well appreciated,

Open Disk Management.
Does it appear in there?

It probably just needs to be Initialized, and then formatted and given a drive letter.

How do I know if it's there? I see a possible choice however it just says drive F and it's removable despite having no removable storage devices.

Are you 100% sure it is connected properly? Both data and power cables?

It is recognised by the BIOS however not by Windows or Disk Management.

Very strange, because Disk Management usually does not lie.
Is it seen in Device Manager?

And this Disk Management fail survives even after a reboot?

Yes, it's still not appearing in Disk Management or Samsung Magician, yet the BIOS and the device manager have both picked it up.

Spoke with several Samsung employees, all said the same. I have sent it back and I have been issued a full refund.
